FALL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS BEING ACCEPTED AS OF SEPTEMBER 15. APPLICATIONS DUE NOVEMBER 1.

IMPORTANT NOTICE : PROWUS IS WAIVING THE GPA REQUIREMENT FOR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

BASED UPON AVAILABLE RESOURCES, PROWUS IS PLEASED TO BE ABLE TO PROVIDE MUSIC SCHOLARSHIPS FOR STUDENTS AGES 8-18 IN THE PORTLAND METRO AREA. THESE SCHOLARSHIPS ARE BASED ON A REVIEW OF THE APPLICANT’S COMPLETED APPLICATION.

APPLICATION PROCESS

  • PROWUS grants music scholarships twice per year. Applicants must submit a new, complete application for each round of scholarship requested, as PROWUS cannot use previous application information to determine eligibility for a scholarship.

  • Each scholarship is disbursed as a one-time check. Amounts awarded are determined by dollars available in the PROWUS scholarship fund and by number of applicants.

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION DEADLINES 

  • FALL APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED STARTING SEPTEMBER 15.

  • APPLICATIONS DUE NOVEMBER 1.

    Applications must be postmarked by the dates above. Applications must include all required items, even if you have applied and received a scholarship in the past. Incomplete applications will NOT be considered. All documents, including referrals, are required.

ONLY COMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. ALL DOCUMENTS, INCLUDING REFERRALS, ARE REQUIRED.

  • Instructor / Music School Reference Form - Have each of your references fill out a copy of this form and return to the PROWUS Grant Committee; it is required for Scholarship Application acceptance. Or, reference information may be emailed to prowusgrants@gmail.com with the following information:

    • Instructor / Music School name and phone number

    • Student Name

    • How long you have known the student, and in what capacity?

    • Would you recommend this student for a PROWUS Music Scholarship? Why? (Attributes to consider: Dependability, commitment, leadership, motivation, team contributions, maturity, ambition, etc.)
